My list of favorite garden venues in Florida can be counted on one hand, and Harry P. Leu Gardens definitely makes the list. Couple an amazing backdrop with a great couple and you have a recipe for a great engagement session. My goal is always to capture the true personality of a couple, which felt particularly easy because Jasmin and Steve are so laid back, fun, and bring such great energy. My only regret is that I'm not available to shoot their wedding, but I'm thankful I was given the opportunity to capture this wonderful session.
Tristan + Les :: Beach Engagement Session
Let me start by saying that these two could not have been easier to photograph. Their natural chemistry is evident in each image, and from the beginning, we were on the same page with ideas, location, and outfits. I was excited immediately following this session, but it turned out even better than I imagined. From their initial email, I knew Tristan and Les spend much of their free time at the beach, so I'm thrilled to have captured not only their love, but a glimpse of their favorite way to spend time together. If I didn't have enough goodness to photograph throughout this session, these two are going to have such a gorgeous wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate this coming November. Side note, I loved their shoot so much, that I returned to this same spot a week later on my day off to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. Also, I have to say thank you again to Tristan and Les for bringing me the most delicious macaroons from Datz Dough, and another set for my girlfriend. I'm so thankful for such amazing and thoughtful clients!
Christa + Matt :: St. Pete Engagement Session
I truly believe the moments captured in this engagement session would've happened without any direction at all. Christa and Matt are so laid back and natural together, and Matt is a seriously awesome musician... I almost wanted to stop shooting for awhile just to hear him play. They have both been so fun and awesome to work with so far, so I know there's no question that I'll love their wedding at one of my absolute favorite Tampa Venues, The Oxford Exchange. November can't come soon enough!
Jessica + Kevin :: Ranch Engagement Session
There's nothing I love like photographing on privately owned property; Add great light and an amazing couple and I'm a pretty happy camper. A bottle of Vintage Dom Perignon never hurts either. This session started with Jessica and Kevin giving me a tour of the property, while chatting about the plans for their wedding this October at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club. Needless to say, I cannot wait to photograph their special day. Below is a small snippet from our afternoon around Kevin's family property. I'm not sure if it was the light, location, or the couple (or a combination of all three), but I shot a ton of film!
Sheena + Nick :: Woodsy Engagement Session
What a perfect day and a perfect couple. I could've photographed Sheena and Nick all day. I'm so excited for the rest of 2014, but I'm already incredibly excited for Sheena and Nick's wedding at the Vinoy in 2015! There are so many more, but I thought I'd just share a snippet of this day filled with light and chemistry.
Kari + Cody :: Urban Engagement Session
Immediately following this shoot, I honestly texted a few friends about Kari and Cody... I'll chalk it up to branding and possibly good luck, but I just could not believe how great of a fit Kari and Cody were. Which is icing on the cake, because I was already excited about their beautiful wedding coming up this November at the Powel Crosley Estate. I was also really excited to get the opportunity to work with Courtney with Fabulously Chic Weddings again. Kari and Cody were hoping their engagement session would reflect their NYC lifestyle, so I scouted some of my favorite local urban environments. Fortunately, we had the best weather we could ask for, and how stinking cute is their dog Cali? Our love of Shih Tzu's are one of the many things we have in common!
Print Features :: Winter 2013
Honored to be featured in the Knot National Magazine, the Knot Florida, and to have the cover image of Weddings Illustrated! And I just received confirmation that I'll have another cover soon! I'm so excited for my 2014 wedding season to start!
Emma + David :: Selby Gardens Engagement Session
When Emma and David left from the other coast of Florida for our engagement session, it was a comfortable 80 degrees. But when they got to Sarasota, it was right around 59 degrees with a heavy breeze. Even so, the light was beautiful, and they did an amazing job keeping each other warm. Honestly, without the strong wind, I would not have been able to get the amazing sunset shots that we did, so I'm grateful! I had so much fun capturing their love on film. I cannot wait for their beautiful wedding at the Boca Raton Resort this coming May!
Maigen + Ryan :: Tampa Engagement Session
Well these two could not be any more photogenic... And their one year old pup Madison seems to have taken after them as well. I've been really lucking out lately with some great light and surprisingly comfortable summer weather. The light, the breeze, and Maigen and Ryan's chemistry made my job so easy! I can't wait for their wedding next April... They dressed so unbelievably well for their engagement session, I can only imagine what they'll look like on their wedding day!
