Rachel + Jared :: Bok Tower Gardens Wedding Inspiration

As a wedding photographer, experience is invaluably when it comes to the speed and ever-changing variables on the wedding day. A styled shoot is a wonderful opportunity to photograph unique details and portraits in a slower and more controlled environment... The rain on this particular day had different plans. While we were forced to work quickly and take cover from the downpour for several hours, in the end, the rain was an unexpected, yet complimentary element to our theme. What started as an low-key earthy and organic shoot, blossomed in to a wonderfully complete green and white editorial. I knew from the beginning that there was no better location in Florida than Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, which we timed perfectly with the peak of the Azalea blooms. We also knew the perfect models - Rachel, her husband, and their absolutely adorable daughter. Since both Rachel and Jared are talented musicians, the guitars were a perfect addition. In fact, those images were inspired by one of Rachel's profile pictures. It's certainly worth mentioning that Rachel did the hair and makeup for herself and the bridesmaids, and she's also a very talented photographer. Needless to say, she has a lot going for her! Special shout out to Eileen Pandolfo with Twine Bindery, who planned and coordinated this amazing shoot, in addition to creating the amazing favors, journal, and invitation.

Corey + Abbie :: 12 Years

The highest honor and compliment to me is to be asked to photograph another photographer. In the last year, I've had the distinct pleasure of photographing 3 different photographer's weddings. Surprisingly, I wasn't nervous for those weddings, but quite the opposite... Yet, as this shoot approached, the anticipation built, and so did the nerves. If you know Corey and Abbie, you know that there are few couples more amazing, and more right for each other than these two. They're approaching their 12th anniversary, but if you saw them together, you might think they were newlyweds. They not only compliment each other in marriage, but in their absolutely incredible photography and the ever-growing business they've built. In photography, they set the bar for posing, lighting, and client experience. But in life and marriage, they have the most phenomenal sphere of influence and lead by the most positive example. So the pressure to make this shoot epic was entirely intrinsic, in fact, Corey and Abbie could not have been easier to work with throughout the entire process. In the few years we've been friends they've made a huge impact on me, I only hope the light and love in these images can provide a small glimpse of just how amazing Corey and Abbie Conroy are.Dress :: The White ClosetHair and Makeup :: Camposecco ArtistryFloral :: The Bride's BouquetSpecial thank you to Avery Davis for coming along.

Nelson Nevada :: The Experience

At the beginning of March, I had the honor and privilege of speaking at an amazing workshop in Las Vegas called The Experience 2013. A panel of wedding bloggers and photographers came together to educate a small group of photographers on the benefits of being published, how shoot wedding details, and ultimately how to get published. Let me just say, I expected everything to be amazing, but from start to finish, I'm not sure there could be a better workshop. I even felt like I learned a few things, and we had the best group of panel members of attendees possible. Here is just one from the last part of the Experience, from the Nelson Nevada Ghost Town.

Kristin + Rob :: Tampa Engagement Session

Every day I walk out of my apartment, and many times when I'm simply walking around taking a break from editing/designing/emails, I stop and think, I love my neighborhood... I should do a shoot here sometime. Thanks to Kristin's suggestion, I finally made that happen! I can't say that every shot was right in front of my building, but I can say that about half of this blog post is! The scenery is quite wonderful, but nothing will top Bella Collina, where Kristin and Rob will be married in October of this year. I was very selective with this post (so many good ones to chose from), so you can imagine my excitement for their upcoming nuptials. Can't you just feel their love in these pictures?

Lauren + Michael :: Tampa Yacht and Country Club Wedding

I'm waiting to submit this gorgeous wedding, but I couldn't resist posting a small preview of this amazing bride and groom. Lauren is so radiant and elegant, I swear she could be on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings or in a Monique Lhuillier ad. Can't wait to post more. In the mean time, please check out their beautiful Bok Tower engagement session!

Rachel + Marcus :: Bayshore Boulevard Engagement Session

What could top a Bayshore Boulevard engagement session with gorgeous weather and light? An Oxford Exchange wedding on the first weekend of November. In an effort to avoid an endless list of why I can't wait for Rachel and Marcus' wedding, I'll give my top three. I absolutely love their chemistry and story, they've already chosen amazing vendors and an amazing venue, and they're so incredible easy to work with. Their day can't come soon enough! To make me love them even more, I just got back from a 5 day trip out west for a photography conference, and when I returned there was a handwritten thank you card with a gift certificate for Buddy Brew Coffee. If you've been to the Oxford Exchange, then you probably know how amazing that coffee is... And if you've asked me about the Oxford Exchange, thank you know how much I love their Mocha Latte.

Megan + Justin :: Sarasota Wedding Photography

A little preview from a beautiful wedding this past October. You might remember this couple from a fantastic engagement shoot a year ago. With the help of the wonderful ladies of Burkle Events, Justin and Megan had an absolutely beautiful wedding down to every detail. I can't wait for them to get their completed album!
