My grandpa is in better shape than me, can probably beat me in tennis, and can always make you laugh. My grandma is sharp as a tack, keeps my grandpa under control, and can hold her own on the dance floor. Together, they dance better than anyone I know. There's nothing I love more than hearing the story of how they met and how they've made it through over 60 years of marriage. Every time I see them together, I think about the responsibility I have when I see grandparents at a wedding. This is why I do what I do. I only hope I can look as good as them.
Patrick + Carissa :: Ringling Musuem Wedding
I could talk all day about the weather, the venue, and every other amazing aspect of Patrick and Carissa's Wedding, but I'd rather talk about them. Patrick is one of the most humble, giving, and involved grooms I have ever worked with. From our initial phone call over a year ago, right up to the final details the week before the wedding, Patrick was my main contact and always picked up his phone. Carissa is unbelievably sweet and so easy to work with. Her parents made sure I was taken care of throughout the reception and that I got food and something to drink. Her sister worked harder than just about any MOH I have ever seen, all with a smile on her face. All these things led to one of my biggest blog posts... And there are so many more where these came from. I have Julie Brewer to thank for being my amazing second shooter (the amazing ring shot below is hers - I had to show that beautiful ring off). Also, thank you Carissa with Grace Leigh for assisting.Venue :: Ringling Museum of ArtHotel :: Ritz Carlton SarasotaCoordinator :: Day PlannersHair + Makeup Artist :: A Victorian Bride Florist :: Suncoast FloristGown Boutique :: CC's Boutique
Cecilia + RJ - Engagement Shoot
Pulling in to our second location, you can't miss the "no trespassing" sign, but we figured, we're not doing anything wrong. After exactly two frames, someone pulled up on an ATV and told us we had to leave. This might be the only time I was happy to be kicked out of an awesome location. Fortunately, RJ's parents lived only a few minutes from where we were and their property turned out to be perfect! Not only that, I got a chance to see where their wedding will take place in just under a month! Cecilia and RJ were so amazing to work with. So many times through out the shoot, I had to remind myself to stop talking and take pictures. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to shooting their wedding.
Nature :: Elemental
My journey is extricably tied to the natural and elemental. Below you'll find a small portfolio of intimate landscapes captured on adventures both near and far between 2005-2013. These images stand as the foundation and continued growth of my photographic style. Each storied image is tied to fond memories of exploration and discovery. For custom print inquiries, please feel free to contact me.
French/Garden Shoot :: Featured on Style Me Pretty
I'm excited to announce that this amazing shoot has been featured on Style Me Pretty! I felt this shoot incorporated so many things I love: film photography, outdoor weddings, nature, saving the environment, and all things vintage or handmade. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. For more images, and a full story behind this shoot, check it out on Style Me Pretty!I would be totally remiss if I didn't thank the amazing people I worked with. Without Eileen Pandolfo, there would not have been a cohesive theme, environmental message, or anything hand made.Stephanie with FishHawk Weddings worked amazingly well with Eileen to style the beautiful table settings and adorn them with gorgeous flowers. Sergio + Vicky :: Engagement Shoot
Retro style, amazing chemistry, and an awesome sense of humor... Three things that made me love this shoot and love working with Sergio and Vicky. I was excited when I first heard about their vintage wedding at the Don Vincente, but I was sold after our initial meeting when Sergio and Vicky said, "we thought about wearing 'I love Justin DeMutiis Photography' T-shirts to this meeting". So since then I knew that we would be a great fit! The two things I couldn't predict are their amazing outfits, and the fact that this shoot would be featured on Ruffled Blog! I beyond excited to get featured on such an amazing and inspirational blog!Here is a link to their feature on Ruffled Blog
Colleen :: Senior
I don't post many senior portraits on my blog, but Colleen is no ordinary senior. Besides all her talents, creativity, and effortless beauty, she has been an amazing senior rep! Last year I did an epic shoot for her 17th birthday, which I knew would be hard to top. But fun props, and an amazing location made this shoot quite epic as well. Too many amazing ones to choose from.
Jessica + Derek :: Engagement Shoot
I could create a long list of the things I love about Jessica and Derek, but let me just name three. First, I love that not only is Jessica constantly excited about the engagement shoot and wedding and always running ideas by me, but Derek is extremely involved as well! The second thing, they're great to be around. One of things that stands out from their engagement shoot is when I was telling them how I have an attachment to my old camera bag that I've had for close to 7 years, and Jessica said "Do you want me to take a picture of you with your bag?" The third thing, they know how to dress. Jessica had a wardrobe of J.Crew to choose from in the back of their car. Anyway, on to their engagement shoot! When I initially met with them, they described how they got engaged at Lindey's Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, and they talked about the charm of the restaurant and cobblestone streets... And then I thought, well if we can't go back to Columbus, I know the perfect place for the engagement shoot! We found an amazing old inn/restaurant where they brought menu's from Lindey's as well as several other fun props. Overall, they were looking for images that had a magazine/editorial feel, and I think I delivered!I know I said I'll only name three things, but I thought I would mention that I also love having dinner with my clients. And Jessica and Derek treated me to Outback takeout at their home last night, where they got to view all of their engagement images for the first time on their HDTV thanks to Apple TV.
New England Autumn
Finally... I managed to experience a New England Autumn. The summer before I started high school, I spent over three weeks on one of the most relaxing and adventurous vacations with two of my best friends in Bennington, Vermont. Even in the summer, the post card racks are full with images of New England as the leaves turn. Ever since, I have dreamt about this day. So even though Boston is seriously one of the best cities I have ever been to, I couldn't help but spend most of my time in the Boston Public Garden."Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower"- Albert Camus
